I'm beginning to wonder if I should get in touch with London. Looking through the spreadsheet there are only a few visa exempt cases that were 'In Progress' as long as mine has been and almost all of them seem to have been errors or problems matching medical results...

Doesn't hurt to send them an email. It might put your mind at rest at least.

I can't even get onto ECAS anymore so God knows what's going on with my app now.

Yeh I'm just going to say something like that I just wanted to check if there were any problems with my application, when talking with people familiar to the process it became clear that it is very rare for an application to be 'In Progress' as long as 2 months and that this length of time in progress often indicated there might have been some issues with medical results or something...

I did my medicals in March last year before I sent off the application in early May. I never for the life of me expected there would be any chance of them expiring before I got my PR, but now I am just over 1 month away from this potentially happening. Sigh.

HI All,
We submitted our application for Spousal sponsorship Aug 21st approved sponsorship part Oct 30th. Moved to Canada Jan 18th 2013 no probs with immigration and Husband waiting out PR in Canada, he has even been granted Medicare and can apply for an open work permit once his application goes from the status "application received" to "application in process"...I had no idea about this it was the immigration guy in Toronto that told us. Anyways we have had an email from CIC requesting that we fill in Schedule A background declaration again going back to when my hubby was 18 rather than the past 10 yrs which is how we originally filled it in. I can only guess that he was rather transient living in bedsits and moving around alot until he settled down about 10yrs ago, and that they want us to conform his long term home address as he left home a 19..is this fairly common practice in such cases? I am pleased they are looking at the file but worried about the fact he was so transient as a young man !!

Oh and I forgot to mention that he cannot remember house numbers or postcodes and has no record of them, he can recall street names but not in what order he lived at those places. Do you think it is wise to write a letter explaining all this, as there are obviously going to parts that don't match with the original application as we had to hazard a guess when he lived at which places, and didn't include some as a) there was not enough space on the form and b) he maybe was only at some addresses a few months. They have only asked for us to fill in question 8 so I guess we leave the rest of the form blank? Can we email it to them or should we post it?

We haven't been able to log in to CIC all week but logged in this morning and finally saw the magic words. It says they started processing on 4th Feb and so Decision Made must've been sometime between then and now.

Our timeline so far FYI - Mississauga received our application on 16th July, sponsor approval was around 28th August and they requested an extra document on 17th Jan which they already had (they managed to find it after several emails from us). Hoping the final bit of good news comes in the post soon.

Fingers crossed this is a sign that their January go slow is over and they start getting through everyone else's a bit quicker.

Ah nuts, this is a little frustrating. Emailed London office last week about the delay in hearing anything after decision made and was informed my COPR (it was good to see the decision was a positive one) was being delivered... To the wrong flipping address, even though my current address is the one shown on the ECAS system. So email sent back and now waiting for the post office in B.C. To open. I must say the wife is more pissed off than me.

You have permission to rage! It seems like this kind of nonsense is happening more and more these days... hopefully it gets sorted soon, but at least you know it's en route!

If everything goes well and I get approved on March 30th (CIC's estimate via email) how long does the rest of the process take? With passport requests etc?

My timeline:

Application sent: 10 September 2012
Received: 13 September 2012
Sponsor Approved: 24 October 2012

Medical results were received at some point but not sure when...

Look at the spreadsheet that's been linked a million times, that's the best indication of current processing times.

I've used it, and it is very useful, but I don't see an indication of time from passport request to the end of the process...

most people dont get a passport request, just COPR. The COPR is the end of the process
