Hi All,
This is my first post so be gentle haha I took the family to NZ last year for 3 months and quite simply we all fell in love with the Islands. The only issue we had is that having 3 small children under 5 we couldn't do much travelling...... tried camping in a tent on a couple of occasions but with no luck. So, the time has come again and were jetting off again!! The idea I had is to do as much travelling in our current car and caravan simply because of the cost of the caravans in NZ and also the conditions that I saw. The advice I was wanting advice on is importing our car and caravan and leaving over there with family..... Until next year :-) I have been in contact with a couple of freight companies and have got prices. The best prices I got are - car is £1645 and caravan is £4330! Which if I had to hire of buy over there is not too bad. Now, that process seems straight forward but my grey area is when they hit Auckland! Is it a timely and costly process to get them ready to go for NZ roads? Any advice would be great. Thanks, Paul |

Hi peliqueria,
Why? What effect would it have to import a caravan for my own use? Thanks, Paul |

Bring your caravan mate
There's a bit of conversion work to do, but they are so much better than anything over here, (unless you want to spent thousands), and there are so many great campsites |
