We sent off the application in May, and it was received in Mississauga on 23 May. On 17 July, I was approved as a sponsor, and today I logged into the CIC website and can see that my partner's application has been received in London and that they have received his medical results!

Michty - They are not going to correspond with the sponsored person because they do not need to. They should email or write to the sponsor when that part of the process is complete. That said there are individual delays that happen. Bally's approval of sponsorship took over 60 days.

Do you mean his took 60 days from the day it was received or opened?

One thing I have learnt from this process and the biggest advice I can give people starting everything
Dont judge the timings of your application based on someone elses who sent it on/around the same time as yours. You will just worry yourself crazy thinking something is wrong. Every application is different and the times reflect this.

Hi Michty - I wasn't expecting anything for at least another month, so don't worry!

Congrats to all the recent sponsorship approvals and COPR's
I have an update for my application, I was emailed today requesting the RPRF
(I think most everyone else submitted their RPRF with their application so this may not even matter to anyone else) - my application was received by CPC-M on February 20th and my husband was approved as sponsor on May 9th.
So I'm hoping this means my application has been approved? Have paid the fee online and will send off the receipt today and then to just wait and see I guess! Wasn't really expecting to hear anything from them for another month or so, so was a nice surprise!

The last few peoples PR approval that have gone a month quicker than normal are all people who are married.. wondering if they make decisions on these ones quicker than common-law, seems that way anyway!

Could be, they probably only look at the marriage certificate and wedding photos, so was probably a waste of time me sending in other stuff too!

I also think people who send herds of evidence when they have a straightforward case, hold things up. we sent fewer than 20 photos, no correspondence evidence, a copy of our joint account and that's about it! Some people send huge boxes for a case that is so obviously genuine and I actually feel bad for the cic officers wading through all that evidence!!
Though that said, I do know how you want to include EVERYTHING just to be sure it's all ok. I guess its a toss up between floods of evidence and just enough to show it's genuine!

Out of interest, does anyone know the email address which the acceptance of sponsorship comes from (for those which they email)?

You may get a letter to say you have been approved, this is what we got. Otherwise emails come from something like this

My way and I think alot of other peoples ways of thinking are, its better to send too much than not enough and have to appeal the decision if it wasnt in your favour, extra time and hassle.
