Went for our interview this morning - went as follows:
Arrived at 8am for an 8.30am interview. After security, we were given a number and went to sit down. There were about forty people ahead of us in the queue, but we were up at the counter in about 20 minutes. Handed over our documents, finger prints were taken and we went back to sit down. Had another 30-40 minutes to wait until we were called up for our interview They asked what I was going to be doing in the US, and how many people would report to me. They asked my wife where we would be living. We were asked to go and pay another fee at a counter (some kind of UK based fee) and then returned to the original window to be told we had been approved for our Visa. Went and paid for our courier (we paid extra for a pre 8 delivery) and were told 3-5 working days for our passports to be sent back. All in all, a quick, painless experience. Didnt stop us both being really nervous though! ![]() US here we come! |

We had a similar experience yesterday. We arrived at about 8:10 and were eating breakfast in a local cafe by 9:10.
About a month ago, a colleague spent 4.5 hours waiting to go to the second window but their appointment was later in the day. I think the key is to get an early appointment. The only thing I found difficult was knowing what you needed to show and when. I felt like I was fumbling through papers before getting through the door. |
