Hi all...

im fairly new to this site. but all the information from everyone is great.

but i have a few questions.

ive been in Canada since the 19th May 2011. and my original Visa is going to expire on the 19th May 2012. so next week pretty much. I have applied for the extended 2 year visa through the CIC. I havent had an email or notification from anyone to say they have received my application in the post, it was sent on the 18th April 2012. I posted the application to London which was directed on the site. So..my question is am i ok to continue working here in Canada? I have a good steady job working for the Fairmont hotels, and they have confirmed that as long as i have applied for the second year i can continue to work with them and await the acceptance of the second year!

Please could people clear this up for me as im getting a little concerned regarding the timing and the fact my original Visa is due to expire in a week...

Thanks guys

Jaz

With the IEC there isn't implied status when your visa expires so unless it comes in time you cannot work until the new one comes, sorry.

FINALLY!!! My application got passed to CIC at 10.45pm last night. My payment request came through on the 23rd April, I paid on the 24th and sent the email on the 25th, so in total 15 days.

When you print the barcodes, just make sure you use a high quality printer. When you go to print, go into your print options and choose the highest print quality possible!

Goodluck and give me a shout if you need any help!
Are you positively sure? I already sent em off....

I repritned the entire app and decs but not the family form and main immigration form - i just dont get why you would have to reprint the other forms, i mean none of the information has changed?

They're wrong - as has been said above, you cannot get implied status on an IEC visa, only on a normal TWP so perhaps that's what they're thinking of.

HTH, good luck.

I was the same, paid April 24th and got my CIC email last night. One of my friends back home paid the day before me and got her LOI two days ago. No idea how it took so long for my CIC to come through but ah well...on the last stretch now!

So i'm just about to do my border run, can't find the information about what i'm supposed to take with me this time. I'm probably just blind but can someone either tell me what I need or provide a link?

I think all you need is the LOI and your health insurance and bank statement

2500 dollars according to the site, just proof you can care for yourself for three months. I'm using my boyfriends statements so hopefully they will be fine with that :P

what stage are you at? some people have waited that long due to the back log but it looks like the system is settling down into a rhythm now.

Hi Guys/Girls,

I'm new here but as there seems to be a wealth of knowledge here i thought i'd ask here first.

Sent of everything - 1st March
Received - 23rd March
Payment requested - 23rd April
Payment and Form sent - 24th April
Automatic email saying form received - 24th April.

Nothing heard since....should i be slightly worried?
