It's really dependent on the device. There are many different versions of Android and very few of them run Android as is, most put there own layer on top of it such as Samsung's Touchwiz or HTC's HTC Sense. For most devices it's just a case of going to the settings and changing the display options or wallpaper etc. But there is no method that applies to all Android devices.
