After Torres' goal, I wonder what Gary Neville's reaction to Suarez's third goal would have been Great hat trick, topped off with one of the goals of the season.

Suarez had a phenomenal game yesterday. Excellent movement and really impressive. That third goal was fantastic stuff. All goals were top notch but that last one was so casually done and he behaved like he does it all the time.

Gerrard played out left a lot and had a very decent first half. The hugging after he made the first goal was a bit odd mind. "Pweeze don't leave me - everyone else is shit" seemed to be spelled out by their caress. But yeah - Gerrard had a good first half but got quite careless in the second half. Lots of wandering off and twatting the ball straight at Norwich defenders. Shelvey had a good game too and should be pleased with how disciplined he was. And notably they ended the silliness of playing Downing on the left and put him out right and he had by far his best game for the club. If he's going to be kept at the club and played down teh right is obviously a better option.

Point too is that Dalglish in the aftermatch review was cheery and self-deprecating. Totally unlike his angry confrontational attitude all year long. Nice to see. The MOTD wankfest afterwards was a bit cloying but that was really a nice performance from Liverpool.

Also looks like the FA are going for Woy instead of 'Arry for England.

Awesome. I don't see how Harry is even remotely qualified for the job. I've heard he's been successful at every club he's been at but at what cost? Spurs are the only club still in the Premiership and if getting Southampton relegated is successful then maybe there's hope for Liverpool yet.

At least Roy has some international experience. It really is a shame that he got the job at Liverpool when Kenny said he wanted it as I'm sure he'd have had much better luck if the supporters had been on his side.

Best English choice if you ask me. I hope his management style of drilling and drilling and drilling formation and tactics works - it's how Hiddink gets the best out of his players so it can't be worse than McClaren's "go and express yourself" style.

Best English choice, almost certainly. Good enough? No. Repost this after the European Championships, or Brazil 2014 and prove me wrong. I think this is another Hoddle / Keegan / McClaren appointment which is going to end like all the rest.

I don't know who should get the job - if I was voting I think I'd vote "none of the above". I'm amazed anyone even wants it these days.

My only feeling is that he appears to get the absolute best out of limited players. Hence he managed to turn Switzerland into a team that under his tenure were judged by FIFA (make of that what you will) the 3rd ranked team.

Well, then he will have his dream job as England manager. Choosing between 'Arry and Roy is like choosing between my ex-wife or my ex-mother in law as a dinner date.

I think we need a proven winner. Getting to the Europa League final with Fulham and managing 18 clubs without winning anything of any real significance does feel like a journey we've taken before. I really hope I'm wrong. I'm still down on England after South Africa 2010 - this potential appointment does nothing to create optimism for the future.

That said, I'll still be there and expecting to win the Euros - and devastated when we get knocked out on penalties in the quarters....

Is Pearce still doing the Euros thing?

And on the plus side - Paul Konchesky must be feeling pretty good about his chances for the England squad now.

Seriously, what does he bring to the table in the way of experience or tactical nous, or even previous sucess?

I guess with the players available it doenst much matter anyway to the inevitable mediocre end result, but I just cant see him adding any value, its not like they should need any motivating at that level, and there is plenty of old heads in the squad as it is. Honestly Id rather it was Hodgson
I seem to have been chanelling Mystic Meg back in February.

A case of "be careful what you wish for" I guess

I think of the English candidates Roy is probably the best fit for the "impossible job". I hope they do well. Time will tell. Expectations will be realistically low at least.

This weekend's EPL was like something out of the twilight zone.

Liverpool winning.

Liverpool winning 3-0.

Wigan 4 Newcastle 0.

Torres scoring a hat trick.

WTF?

Before this turns into a 'let's all have a go at Harry' thread can I just point out that in seasons 1993-2009 (before Harry) Spurs' final position in the table varied from 15th (at it's lowest) to 5th (at it's highest) with an average of 10th.

When he arrived in 2009 he pulled us out of relegation and since then we have been 5th then 4th, and who knows what at the end of this season.

Yes we've had a run of poor form since February, but comparative to other seasons, if you look at what he's done since he's been here, it's not been 'alf bad!
