they should make it a bit more fair. None of the injuring the bull before it gets to have a go at the Matador.

I can see the attraction of it, and understand how it would give you a rush... running the bulls in Pampalona is something i've always wanted to try.

I imagine it's not a terribly morally sound position to take...

it's fashionable to stand up and be counted against bull fighting...

but when anyone questions the morals of extensive cattle farming (particularly the way it's practised in North and South America) and points out the inefficiencies w.r.t. the energy chain from solar energy -> cattle feed -> cattle -> food on the plate, it's not so fashionable.

Spot on - and it can be argued that with an exponentially rising population vegetarianism is a much more energy-efficient way of feeding the masses.

I would miss juicy steaks though. Perhaps if there were herds of wild cows I could butcher the odd one and feed my passions.

Husband and oldest daughter are strict vegans.

I do have milk in my tea in office, but have cut down substantially on dairy, also substitute Tofu for paneer

If you saw the video on PETA and watched how chickens are slaughtered/animals treated - believe me, you would give up meat

Eating, yes.

Taking over vast swathes of rainforest for beef production which diverts the solar energy to feed Maccy D's, though... I don't think there's an eveolutionary argument for that.
