Default Time to mail from NVC to Embassy! My timeline from NVC mail to packet 3 sent out

My fiance is in Singapore, just about as far as you can get. The NVC mailed my packet on Monday. It was there Friday! I called DHL, the people the NVC use to ship to embassies with. They say shipping express overseas (at least to Singapore) is 3 days, starting the day after it was recieved by them to ship. This worked out exactly right. As of friday, packet 3 was sent to my fiance! This shipping time is terrific! I hope this reassures many of you about any delay we all thought may occur when shipping. The time in transit is about the same for me mailing a letter to California from Florida!

Thanks for the post and sharing your timeline. That helps me calm down a bit about the NVC step.

Hi all, thought I would post my current timeline for those waiting on
NVC.
K3 VISA petition
1st NOA Oct 31, 2002/ Nov 1, 2002
2nd NOA March 31, 2003
NVC Received approved file April 08, 2003
NVC Forwarded file to Consulate April 10, 2003

I did some checking since NVC uses DHL to forward files. I thought
they scan everything and email it but I think its a combination of
both. Anyway DHL customer service was helpful and told me the
consulate should get it by Tuesday April 15, 2003. They saw that a few
packages were picked up for delivery to my consulate. I will get a
tracking number from NVC next week when its available on their system.

Getting closer!! NVC appears to be pretty fast.

Victor

Default just wanted to add mine

the dates in ( ) are how many business days it took from the previous date to the date it is after.

March 11 approval
March 19 NVC receives approval (6 business days)
March 24 NVC send to Casablanca (3 business days)
April 2 Casablanca receives application (7 business days)
April 9 Husband receives packet #3 and appointment date in
mail (5 business days)
June 3 appointment at Casablanca (7 weeks)

Total buisness days from approval to Packet #3 = 21 days
Total days from approval to Packet #3 = 28 days
Total days from approval to appointment = 2 months 22 days

Hi Cdcib,

When I asked the lady at NVC for the tracking number she said its not
in the computers yet. Takes a few days. I asked if I called next week
could I then get a tracking number. I forgot her exact response but
she didn't say they couldn't give it nor did she discourage me from
calling on it.

Either way I am sure it will get there soon. I just hope the consulate
processes it quickly.

Will keep you posted...

Michael and Lynn,

The tracking number is DHL Shipper tracking number. NVC uses DHL
which is like Fed-Ex. I will see if they have a tracking number
attached to my petition which was forwarded to my wife's consulate.
