Default Australian electrical grade

Could anyone help me regarding on what the process is to having my qualifications recognised in Australia as im stuck! I'll be arriving in Sydney in a few months time.

Im a young spark who completed an apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering with qualifications such as the Electrical Installations BS7671 wiring regulations and a ETCAL level 3 in electrical engineering maintenance. Ive been in touch with TRA but they said to go through them i need 7 years experience where im only coming up to 6. Is there anyway i can get something sorted?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Are u coming on a WHV? If so, then u don't need a licence to work in Sydney as you can find work as an unlicenced sparky.

what year did you start your apprenticeship man?

the 7/6 year experience thing goes out the window providing you have completed a four year apprenticeship.

i started mine in 2006, finished in 2010 and got my ARTC granted last month, (after a massive **** around mind you.)

just bring all your stuff, every piece of paperwork you can find relating to your job and sweet talk your boss for as long and as detailed a reference as he can give you.

Yeah i'll bring all the paperwork and stuff along with me and catch my boss on a good day.

Can i get sorted with the ARTC over ther then? It doesnt seem straight forward from what i can pick up..
