Default A quick question regarding FSW application

Hi all- just a quick question- my sincerest apologies if this information is available elsewhere but I can't seem to find it.

I'm currently on a one year temporary working visa (expires in August- won't be able to get a new one right away because I don't count as a habitual resident of the UK anymore ). I don't have the necessary full-time work experience to qualify for the PNP here in Ontario (yet!) so what I want to know is, if I apply for permanent residency under the FSW category, can the fact that I've applied and am awaiting a decision be enough for them to extend my temporary working visa until such time as I'm given a decision? I'm not entirely sure how it works.

Thanks in advance!

Andre.

Short answer No. To continue to work you require a LMO and a new work permit. Applicants under the PNP programs who have received a positive response can be issued a facilitation letter which allows them to apply for a work permit without a LMO>

And just checking, but you say you intend to apply for PR as FSW from your one year working permit, but that work permit isn't by any chance an IEC is it?

It's just that you can't use that to apply for PR as FSW if so. If it's a normal Temp Work Permit (i.e. you've got a LMO), then you can.
