Would you go to the docs?

Would you go to the docs?
OK so some of you know that I got a new horsey at the weekend (woohoo!)
Was riding him last night and we had a bit of a disagreement as to direction (ie the way he wanted to go and the way I wanted to differed!)
He won - obviously - but I landed full force on my back. Was a bit winded and sore but managed to get up catch him. brush him down, turn him out and carry his tack back.
Over the course of last night the back pain got worse and I had problems walking and can't lift my legs up (can still feel them don't panic), but can't now put any weight on them without being in agony. (obviously managed to get out of bed this mornig to get the laptop - well if i'm gonna have a day off work I need something to do!!!)
Would you hang on for a day or so just in case its a bit bruised and sore and then go to the docs if it doesn't get better?
I'm a bit worried tbh and hope that I don't have to get up to go to the bathroom too much cos its bloody hurts!
And yes I would like some sympathy too seeing as theres no-one here to give it hahahahaha x

Secondly, get yourself to the docs/walkin clinic asap. Your back isn't something you should mess around with lady. Now go crawl to the car and go. The report back later so we know your okay.

I'm afraid I can't offer any advice as I haven't had any falls like that. Big sympathy sent your way though

I'd love to but unfortunately can't lift legs up enough to drive so would be pretty impossible to depress the clutch constantly (my cars a standard ) and its a 25 min drive to town.

Re: Would you go to the docs?
When you get extreme lasting pain your body is telling you that something is wrong. Seek imediate medical treatment. For quick attention go to the Emergency at a local hospital. They have all the necessary equipment to diagnose you. For x-rays etc that's what your doctor would do, so bypass the doctor thing.

I think you should definitely go to the emergency room because if you don't get it seen to immediately it can haunt you for the rest of your life.
Good luck sweetheart, hugs sent ((((((((((((((( ))))))))))))))

Mand's if it's hurting that bad - so you can't even drive you need to get it looked at - if only I knew earlier I could have brought you to Red Deer this morning - we were out at the lake until 6.45 this morning. I'll have to give you my cell number, we have no internet at the lake yet (yay).

Re: Would you go to the docs?
Ok from a frequent faller also, albeit from motorbikes travelling far too quickly......
1, WEAR A BACK PROTECTOR!!!!
2, If you can still walk (albeit in pain) & still feel your legs then my personal experience tells me that you should take some strong Advil or some other painkillers / anti inflammatory. At the same time you need to ice the area of your back that hurts. Do this for the rest of the day and night and give it a day or two of rest (although not static rest). If you still have issues walking by this time then get to the docs or walk-in clinic.
3, The fact that you were able to get up and potter about after the fall tells me that number 2 will work.
All in my opinion and experience mind you. I'm not a Dr / specialist although i've visited my fair share for these injuries.
