Tis the season for house fires
Well its getting colder now so the amount of house fires is going to increase significantly.
It surprises me in this day and age that people do not know how to use candles safely and that people are buying houses without seemingly doing their due diligence. (Christchurch family thankful for support after fire | Stuff.co.nz)

I left some clothes to dry in front of the 25 year old 3 bar electric heater
nek minute my lounge is on fire.
No officer, I don't know what could have caused the fire

Kiwis around us need to toughen up. Many have already lit their fires and from the smell haven't bothered to sweep their flues
There has already been a couple of house fires where everything was gutted and there was inadequate insurance. Always leads to a newspaper article which ends in a begging letter. *sigh*

At least we know how traditional Kiwis heat their houses.
