Shagged by a Rare Parrot !

Re: Shagged by a Rare Parrot !
The Kea is an alpine parrot. It's green with red under the wings. It's omnivorous and because of the decline in population & encroachment onto their natural habitat, is now fully protected as it should be. They are highly intelligent & extremely curious birds which, because of people , is to their detriment I feel.
It was impossible to find any footage of them in their natural environment away from tourists and encroaching farms and stations.
With the Kakapo there are just over 120 birds in the world . They remain critically endangered. They are indigineous to NZ
The Kea are also now endangered thanks to us . It is estimated that only 1000 - 5000 exist in the wild . They are also indigeneous to NZ.
David Attenborough did a programme on them which can be found in several parts on You Tube.
Here is one part of that programme which shows them in quite an honest light. I just hope something can be done to stop them becoming critically endangered , like the Kakapo.

How cute!!! The kakapo is SO CUTE!!! I saw the Attenborough programme on Kea's, they're amazing. Pity there are only 120 kakapos! Why are we so destructive a species

Re: Shagged by a Rare Parrot !
There's a reason our birds are endangered. Stupid fat parrots who try to shag different species.
That'll do it.
As for Kea...they are AWESOME. As the Forest and Bird Bird of the Year Poll said (which Kiwi won btw)...Keas are the bogans of the bird world.
