Re: Scorching !
I wish it would turn to custard here. We have had 1mm rain in the last month and everything is semi parched. As usual farmers are predicting doom.

Yup. Weather is a bit poo on and off at the moment. Feb is normally a settled month.
We're dodging between scorching whilst trying to weed the section and retreating undercover with black skies overhead. It does seem to be 4 seasons in one day a bit this year.

We've been very happy with the temps in the Bay of Plenty since we arrived in Oct, that blardy wind tho - that can **** right off about now! Dad says its usually died off by New Yrs so it is dragging on this year.
I think we are starting to tip over into the 'its toooooooooooooo hooooooottttttt' territory tho, stocked up on fans at Bunnings today to alleviate child related bed time whinery

It's already improved, had a nice bbq yesterday and just had al fresco full English breakfast on the deck
Went down to Arkles bay beach this morning for sunrise, it reinforced why i want to move over here ASAP.

This summer has been a bit shocking so far! If it's not chilly/raining there's a howling nor-wester.
Come on NZ, sort it out! I've become accustomed to higher standards

Re: Scorching !
reading all these nice warmer weather posts on this thread makes me shiver with envy
I wish
Come visit Toronto to cool off, for in the last couple of weeks all hell has frozen over.
Really warm though here today blue sky with +5c which is really weird compared to the normal temperature for this time of year or a few days ago for that matter

I can confirm previous reports of scorchio today are true.
After honouring the great kiwi tradition of "crate day" the gods appear to be pleased and smiled upon us with sunshine and warmth.
I now pronounce crate day New Zealands national holiday.

I thought it only ever got that hot here in Oz.....It certainly never got that hot when I lived in nz, although it did get into the 30's a couple of times, which is spring for me!
