Since 2001, Palestinian militants have launched thousands[1][2][3][4] of rocket and mortar attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip as part of the continuing Arab–Israeli conflict. As of July 2014 the attacks have killed 50 people,[5] and injured more than 1900 people

Attacks have been carried out by all Palestinian armed groups,[23] and, prior to the 2008–2009 Gaza War, were consistently supported by most Palestinians,[24][25][26][27] although the stated goals have been mixed. The attacks, widely condemned for targeting civilians, have been described as terrorism by United Nations and the European Union, and are defined as war crimes by human rights groups Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. The international community considers indiscriminate attacks on civilians and civilian structures that do not discriminate between civilians and military targets illegal under international law.[28][29]

why should I or anyone else give a flying ***k about this. I personally couldn't care less if one wipes the other of the map
I dont care if other Arab countries get involved, I dont care if the USA, who are constantly kowtowing to the Jews, for fear
of financial reprisals at home, get involved, which they wont, as no racist, flag waiving redneck is gonna die for a Jew.

So, the slaughter will continue and no one is REALLY bothered, even though a few will pretend otherwise

The majority of the conflicts in the world are a direct result of religion. Until people realise that THERE IS NO GOD and
all religions are complete made up bullshit then this crap will never end

Why should you or anyone else care?

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

but I don't hear you speaking out for the jewish socialist trade union member living in fear of Palestinians threatening to exterminate the State of Israel (and firing rockets indiscriminately into civilian centres).

It is not primarily religious Justcol (if you discount a few ultra orthodox jews) - it is about real estate, water and survival - whether Jewish or Palestinian! But I agree, why the hand wringing about this rather than the worse Sudan, Myanmar, Eritrea, Yemen.... or aren't those 'fashionable'?

You may as well post a piece of script from a Star Wars film,
its about as relevant to todays world as that is.

Terrible as it was, times change, people change, that was then, this is now.

If the shoe was on the other foot, the Palestinians would be doing the same to the Jews

If the original premise of the thread was that McCulley is a fantastic FM because he helped Obama (who by the way is such a laughing stock around the world that Kenya is now insisting he was born in Hawaii) play his game of sticking his thumb in Netanyahu's eye and pissing off Trump on the way out of office, one has to question the premise. Why? A FM's primary job is to look out for the geopolitical interests of his own nation.

McCully has opened NZ up to the full force of Trump's vindictiveness in exchange for a smug feeling of selfrighteousness and the short-term warmth of adulation by the Left. With a resurgent China in your part of the world - and when you're a relative midget on the world stage - you need strong and steady friends. Your FM's short-sighted failure to first tend to NZ's interests could prove he's the worst FM in modern history.

It is not inconceivable that Trump might reopen the question of the 4 million acres of ancestral lands stolen from the Maori people in 1863 (and their subsequent status as second-class citizens in their own country) and insist that, consistent with McCully's moral principles, that land be returned with reparations to the Maori people. How would NZ handle a Security Council resolution to that effect sponsored by the US and cosponsored by the usual 3rd world anti-colonial suspects? McCully would have been a far more "wonderful" FM not to have signed NZ on as a sponsor to the SC resolution.

Not sure what newspapers you're reading, everyone I know thinks he's been a good president. An honest decent man, with morals and integrity.
Still, that's democracy, enjoy President Trump, see you at the Hunger games !!

"Everyone you know..." Must be a small circle of like-minded folks. Anyway, not how it played out over here.

Got anything to say about the moral standing of Europeans who settled on stolen Maori ancestral lands, 4 million acres of it?

Is this ancestral lands meant to be equivalent to native American or Aus aboriginal land (given the Maori arrived in the 15thC) or? The Maori willingly conceded sovereignty (despite revisionist historians) to stop their fellow Maori wiping them out :-)

I would comment there are no pure blooded Maori left. As result of mixed marriages over 150 years just a lot of pale skinned part Maori (some of whom are riding the gravy train). Given the last tribunal hearing saying you were a Maori 'if you culturally thought you were' I am looking for a suitable iwi that will accept an Irish name.

Very wise and prophetic words! The Israelis are most definitely the aggressors. I do care about them because they are fellow humans who are being degraded, not bothered if other people on this site think I am feigning it. It is against all my principles to see a group of people so marginalised by such a powerful and insidious aggressor.
