Re: Moving to Oz on NZ citizenship.

You might not be aware but the employer sponsored visa has special conditions if you are a Kiwi and have worked for your employer for two or more years: it's a more straight forward route.
I haven't...

I am feeling nervous about the flight as I am going alone and have only ever done it with a small family member next to me. Keep waking up fearful I will be sat next to a child or a sweater or...

Re: Who has changed their duvet to a higher tog one?

I'm heading back for a trip next week too! 25 degrees central heating and 12hr bickering sounds a challenge

Hello helpful folk,
We are here on our Kiwi passports. Have submitted an application for ENS visa (not just the employer nomination part - all our stuff is finally in, just medicals to go) -...

Re: Newcastle NSW

Are "houso's" social housing? If so, then yes The Hill and all other older expensive burbs in Newcastle have them. It doesn't make the burb cheaper!

Re: Missing home

Lol, I am having a big homesick patch and have a trip to the UK in a few weeks: am banking on it being a reality check and on feeling a huge sense of relief and good fortune when I land back home in...

Re: Newcastle NSW

Oh I do agree that everywhere has "less desirable" areas and folk you don't want as your neighbours, let alone work colleagues; he said of Newcastle that they're all either bogans or brain dead and...

TBH, I really find your persistent characterisations of people as "brain dead" etc a bit offensive and it indicates your attitude is part of the problem, BUT, otoh, in the spirit of BE support I am...

Re: Newcastle NSW

Indeed! Maybe I am deluded but I think the wages here are pretty decent and other than housing costs, I don't find it a very expensive place to live. Maybe that's the perspective a decade in NZ...

Jewells is lovely, imo. I am in Dudley but would rather Jewells as 3x bus service to Newcastle (have teen). While it's true that you are in the "honeymoon phase" where everything is lush, I think you...

Re: Moving to NZ, what would have done differently, what are you so glad you did

For me, yes. I love NZ (and now Australia) but I wish we had not burned our bridges and got carried away with "emigrating".

Re: Moving to NZ, what would have done differently, what are you so glad you did

We made a massive ever-evolving mindmap and made lists from that. Things we did well: a 2-week stop in WA en route gave us some really lovely family time sandwiched between the stress and sadness of...

Re: Relocating from Aus to Nz

I have lived in both :-)
They are completely different, especially outside of Auckland.
From my perspective:
