Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus - Aus Govt Tracing App

<snip>

On an alternative track, what is it with it the idiots in Victoria that they can't deal with the infectious and potentially infectious? Who the hell lets someone get on a domestic aircraft...

Re: Coronavirus - how's everyone doing?

Re: Coronavirus - how's everyone doing?

If you are in a mess, like the US, then it's really the only option to bring it under control. As far as Australia is concerned, the example of NSW and VIC has shown that we were on the ragged edge...

Re: Coronavirus - how's everyone doing?

Totally reprehensible attitude. What you are saying is that you want many more grannies to die. Millions of them in fact. Eradication is the only solution we know will work, but thanks to...

Re: Coronavirus - how's everyone doing?

That's never going to work. but the question of how you make it happen when infection is front of people's mind is a difficult one :

If you wait for a vaccine then you could be waiting a long...

Re: Coronavirus - how's everyone doing?

It won't save anyone, but it does give them the excuse to do it 'better', something Dutton will be all across like a rash.

Thing is, someone must have told them all the issues with why it wouldn't...

Re: COVIDSafe successfully installed

News article pointing up why it's pointless, and even counterproductive.

Re: British Engineer to Australia

Nope, you have to select one (pick the best bet for you).

And is it 75 points with the language ones? I assume yes.

The reason I mention getting a job with a UK company, and then a posting is...

Re: British Engineer to Australia

Doing the english test to get extra points is a well worn path, and if you are a native speaker and at your education level, not that difficult.
I'd say, with your experience, etc. what I'd do is...

Re: Online deliveries?

I've had things take over 10 days when they should have been 2. Auspost haven't covered themselves in glory, and just when they had the opportunity to permanently grow their business.

I wouldn't...

Re: COVIDSafe successfully installed

The additions that google and apple are adding are for their own, privacy protecting, approach. It won't change the aussie government's app, or how it will not be running.

Yeah, particularly...

Re: Retail Recovery ?

Interestingly in the US, where they are trying to reopen restaurants ahead of actually getting any control of the disease, many are refusing to do so.

Basically the social distancing makes it...

Re: Coronavirus - how's everyone doing?

For me, work is likely to reduce its restrictions next week (working from work, not home). So no matter what the states might say, things are trend back towards normal at its own pace.

Re: Retail Recovery ?

I think we'll end up with more 'dark kitchens'. The money you save on rent and wait staff more than pays for the delivery costs. Plus you can service more than one culinary type, Thai and Italian...

Re: Retail Recovery ?

The social part is part of the nanny centre part. As I say, what they are doing now is decoupling the factual learning from the nanny part - which opens up options going forward.

Re: Retail Recovery ?

There IS a difference between being there and being online - and online certainly has a long way to go - but I can see this being another thing that hits the airlines. Plus, of course, there's the...

Re: Retail Recovery ?

Auspost just seem incapable of reaching the bar, so you can't do normal online. However you can duplicate in each city and treat each as a city state with same day delivery (order by three, evening...

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus - Aus Govt Tracing App

This app is more problem than solution and I don't think anyone should be installing it. Not only is it badly set up, a vector for things we don't want, its also way too late to have any meaningful...

Re: Coronavirus - how's everyone doing?
