Yes...I do strongly suggest to go for 1 day appointment and get it done rapidly. Agreed its a few hundred pounds more but the amount of mind satisfaction one gets is priceless and worth every penny...

Thanks Bipat for your response! I am not surprised with you response to not being aware of this Deemed Surrender Certificate as this was possibly introduced from 2011 onwards, hence fairly new rule....

That is true under the current rules...the Govt is however considering removing the KOL option where it does not matter how long is a couple married for...they will most likely be issued a spouse...

If both you and your husband have sufficient savings, I believe under the current rules he should be able to come considering you both appeared to be married for a long time. But, yes...the new rules...

With current rules if you and your spouse have "adequate" savings which from what I have read in various section of this forum to be approx. £106/week then she should have no problem considering you...

Good points Bristol. There are quite a few rules that, if implemented, can be considered illogical especially, as you quoted, excluding people who have been married for a long time. I also think not...
