Re: DC or Boston for 30something female?

I live in Boston, and I can't speak of the professional atmosphere here, as I'm a student. But what I can tell you is that this is easily one of the best cities in the world. I used to live in...

Re: What's your favorite thing about the US?

Precisely why the US has accepted over 2 million refugees and asylum seekers since 1980. Just so we can kill them when they get here!

Isn't it time you guys get over your European bias...

Re: What's your favorite thing about the US?

Well, haven't checked back on this thread (that I created), in over 3 weeks. And I must say, it's gone to shit. Seems the only people left here are pessimistic trolls. Maybe the reason you hate the...

Re: What's your favorite thing about the US?

Cry me a river. If greater distances driving, and lower fuel economy are your primary concerns, then ditch your Escalade, or just get rid of your car and move to NYC. You can't factor in lower fuel...

Re: What's your favorite thing about the US?

Haha, in Texas there's talk of making a highway with a speed limit of 85 mph. In many places in Texas you can go extremely fast, and I'm sure in the very sparsely populated states (Idaho, Montana,...

Re: What's your favorite thing about the US?

I'm simply quoting the prices listed in the article that I linked. Either way, there's no way in hell gas is cheaper in the UK.

Re: What's your favorite thing about the US?

Not exactly sure how your math works haha. When you make all else equal, in the UK you are still paying over $11 per American gallon, versus about $4 here.

Re: The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

Good points! I must add, I am an American, who has spent 6 years living on a base in Germany, and 2 years on a base in Japan, and I'm only 20. When I lived in Germany, a lot of bases were being...

Anyway, please let's just stay on topic now?

Re: What's your favorite thing about the US?

The US is nice too! And nearly every other time I've gone to Hungary, we've had our car broken into by gypsies, and had over $3000 in stuff stolen, and $5000 in damage done. It's nice in many places,...

Re: What's your favorite thing about the US?

Is it not the truth?

I think if you're so miserable here, you've got bigger issues than needing to move back anyway. Come with me to visit my family in Hungary, then you'll be a little more...

Re: What's your favorite thing about the US?

I rather like it, it's not all over the US though. When I'm in NYC, almost no one holds the door, same thing in a lot of California. I've actually only really noticed it in the South. It seems like a...

Re: What's your favorite thing about the US?

I don't mind bad things to say, but when everything you say is bad, it gets old. Especially when you post condescending remarks every few posts. If its that bad, go back.

I've quite enjoyed my...

Re: What's your favorite thing about the US?

Not really, the US debt per capita is relatively low at around $48,000. Compare that to the UK at $143,000 or Luxembourg at $3,700,000. Also, the Netherlands, Monaco, Ireland, Switzerland, Norway,...

Come on you guys, be serious. No need for such blatant pessimism, especially when you're as lucky as you are.
