Re: Mid-terms - hold my nose and tick the box?

I remember hearing a quote about Trump that when something along the lines of "If it wasn't for his money, Trump would be the guy on the subway that everyone avoids because he's standing there...

Re: Mid-terms - hold my nose and tick the box?

I think it's a plea for Cheeto Man not to forget her in the future. Don't forget, he HATES losers.

Re: Mid-terms - hold my nose and tick the box?

Smiley is apparently claiming that she will win after "every legal vote is counted."

Re: Mid-terms - hold my nose and tick the box?

Yep. Murray breezed past Smiley without breaking a sweat, and it looks like Kim Schrier is on track to win again. AFAICT, there was barely a red ripple...

Re: Let's talk about cars

Talking about tall people in small cars, I remember once seeing Phil Lynott driving a 1977 Civic down Ken High St. I *THINK* he had someone else in there, but I can guarantee that there was not much...

Re: Mid-terms - hold my nose and tick the box?

The two main parties - who are just different sides of the same coin will fight that unto the death. Neither of them really cares when they are out of power, knowing that they will get back in sooner...

Re: Let's talk about cars

And when I say I loved that little bugger to pieces, I mean that I wrote off the first one :-)

I still remember the second one's number plate. K282 CTM. The Indian guy who lived next door told me...

Re: Mid-terms - hold my nose and tick the box?

1. The dems have sold everyone apart from the PMC* and the elites down the river, and the PMC are only there in order to bolster and distract from the elites.

2. In WA candidates for partisan...

Re: Mid-terms - hold my nose and tick the box?

The reason I have problems voting for Murray is my utter, utter loathing of the democratic party. Of all the Senators about whom I know more than the name, she is probably one of the best, but that...

Re: Mid-terms - hold my nose and tick the box?

That's good to know - my wife and I had lunch with her and hubby in Portland over a decade ago, but pretty much zero contact since then.

I take from your message that you are in contact with her...

Re: Let's talk about cars

I'm on my second CR-V, a 2019 Touring. My first was a 2002 EX 4WD. For a long time the road noise on CR-Vs was acknowledged to be terrible, but the 2019 we have is night and day vs. the 2002. We put...

Mid-terms - hold my nose and tick the box?

I'm finding it harder and harder to vote in any other than local races. I guess voting for Patty Murray as US Senator in WA is not THAT tough, but others? I find it really, really hard.

BTW, The...

Re: UK Nova closing down!!!!!!

The trackers for UKNova were located in Houston, TX, and it was in the .com TLD.

TheBox's servers are located in Sweden, and the TLD is Belize. I think they may last a little longer...

Hi All

Long time, blah, blah, blah...

I'm trying to find a pointer to the court opinion(s?) where it has decided that people who had received incorrect advice from the USCIS 800 number were not...

So, what's happening here then?

Going on vacation again soon: if anyone's interested I'll post some photographs like I did last year (http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=668146).

Re: How close are you to a nuclear plant?

Yes, I think it is. Nuclear Implosions (http://www.amazon.com/dp/0521179742/gumbercules-20) by Daniel Pope is an extremely interesting account of the whole Whoops fiasco, and a fascinating account of...

Re: How close are you to a nuclear plant?

The current pollution at Fukushima doesn't even begin to compare with Hanford yet. The leaks in Japan have been atmospheric, whereas there are huge potential groundwater and soil issues at Hanford....

Re: B1 rejected, can I still travel using the visa waiver scheme?

Perhaps the "3-year visa" being referred to is the H-1B, which is normally granted for an initial three-year period?
