Re: Buying property when moving back to the UK

The advice I've been given as a returnee, is that qualifying for a mortgage without a credit history should not be a problem, as long as you can add sufficient equity to the property, and have...

Re: I have been asked for my salary expectations - London to Toronto

I don't work in the financial sector, I'm a brand consultant, and there are about 20x the jobs in my field in London. But that's not the primary reason. My Dad is getting older and my other half is a...

Re: I have been asked for my salary expectations - London to Toronto

When I moved over the common trope was that a comparable salary would be 1.75 times the UK amount, for equivalence.

I'm on my way back to the home country, and am using stats can/ national...

Re: Exchange Rate

As someone moving back to Blighty later this year, I keep crying at the exchange rate falling. Especially as we'll have close to $1m in equity from our house sale, that we're depending on for our new...

Re: Moving back to Uk with Canadian partner

I totally hear you. If I don't move back this year, I'm screwed vacation wise for the rest of the year. That being said, we're looking to return by October at the latest (finance route) and if it...

Re: Moving back to Uk with Canadian partner

Another thing to think about is a job hunting trip. I'm doing this next week, and have lined up 2 interviews already - It's more re-assuring for interviewers to see you face to face... I did the same...

Re: How realistic are my expectations? London to Toronto

We live in downtown toronto, and our 3 bed inner row (think terrace) built for poor people about 130 years ago - about 1,000 square feet is now worth about $1.2 million.

When I first emigrated I...
