Just for anyone who searches for this info at a later date:
I passed the medical while still under urine analysis. Charing Cross emailed me a summary which I gave to the doctor at my medical.

A main applicant can earn extra points if their partner meets a certain criteria, including being in an occupation on the sol.

The tv licence is only required if you watch live tv.
