Re: Teacher and builder looking to move to BC

I do not know where on earth you have got this from!!

BC does NOT recognise seniority from overseas experience.

They might give you experience points on your salary, but no way does this...

Re: I was a teacher!

Seniority also rules in BC, but if you have a skill which is rare, then they can wangle it by saying it is "best fit".
It is still very hard to get in, no getting away from that fact, but for some...

Re: And now .... Ken Barlow

I mean, the threesome thing with Sue was an adult agreement. It doesn't mean they were depraved.

And as for this comment, well, so did Morecambe and Wise, and nobody bothered...

Re: 6ft6in disabled bloke flying uk to vancouver, which airline for legroom?

Book with Air Transat, reserve your seats and you will clearly see the seats with extra legroom marked as such.
They cost another $60 each way, I think.

Be aware, though, that disabled people are...

Re: Lunchtime Choices

That sounds very worrying and not at all attractive:blink:.

I had a home-roasted chicken and avocado salad, along with a toasted onion and poppy seed skinny bagel thing, which was lovely.

Re: Can somebody give me some advice with moving to Canada

It took 18 months to get PR through Federal Skilled Worker Category 2 - Arranged Employment (which I don't think is Category 2 any more, as they keep changing things!!).

We got PR in Feb 2012, so...

Re: Uk Licence

I took a photocopy of my UK Drivers License, both the paper and the card, and I just expected to be able to go back and show those to prove I have a clean UK license.

Re: Is this complete b***** or what?

Short answer - yes, it is complete....

A study composed of only 30 observations of anything is not even remotely close to being statistically valid and therefore has no scientific value...

Any country that has Oink as an immigrant could hardly have a shred of an ego left!
It's...

Re: BC - would you go PNP or LMO?

After our experience with FSW Cat 2, we would go PNP if we had to do it again.

In fact, FSW Cat 2 took so long initially that we almost did a second aplication through PNP after waiting aver 4...

Re: Teacher and builder looking to move to BC

Are you Canadian, by any chance, Julie, or did you teach in BC before going to the UK?

If so, YOU will get credit for UK experience, but new immigrants may not.

In some School Districts it is their...

Re: Teacher and builder looking to move to BC

As Atlantic Expat says below, experience as a SENCO in the UK is not recognised here in BC.
I disagree about the salary.
The...

Re: Getting in to teaching - it can be done!

No, your UK qualification isn't enough.

Being a SENCO also won't count for anything here.
If you say you have a specialism, you need to have studied a separate course equivalent to a Canadian to be...

Re: Getting in to teaching - it can be done!

Can't help you with any information on that, I'm afraid.I know that you do need to be PR to work with children, but that's all I know about those professions.

Someone on here will know for sure.;)
