Including IRA money as assets (would require early withdrawal)

Could we include my DH's IRA under assets for the I-864 form? There's a 10% penalty for early withdrawal, I think, but you can still do it.

I-864 'current income'

My interview is this Tuesday in London and I'm refilling out the I-864 with my USC husband to get it all the numbers accurate. We've decided to go the assets route rather than convince them that his...

Re: Questions about I-864 Affidavit of support

OK, thanks for the reply.

I don't think country of domicile is as cut 'n dry as you make out though -- it seems to be more of a state of mind than anything. One person could decide they're...

Questions about I-864 Affidavit of support

I'm filling this out and had some questions I'd appreciate input on.

'Sponsor's Place of Residence' - I'm assuming this is our mailing address (which is where we live). Other option would be my...

Re: Confused about deadline to enter the US

Meaning I can't land a few days before the deadline and then pop out again for a month or so?

Confused about deadline to enter the US

If and when I get my visa, I had thought I had six months to enter the US. But I recall reading on here that you need to enter within six months of getting your medical. Am confused -- which is it?

Current time between sending in DS-2001 and interview

Hi, just wondering what the current average time is between sending in the DS-2001 and DS-230 and the interview date. Anyone done this recently who can give me an idea?

copy of my I-130 necessary?

So I brilliantly managed not to photocopy the I-130 I submitted way back. Will this matter? I'm assuming the interviewer will have it rather than asking me for it, but just wanted to double-check...

I-864 'country of domicile' question

Hi, just wanted to clarify what USC DH should put down for the I-864's 'country of domicile' question. He's been out of the US for 10 years, 1.5 in Italy, the rest in the UK but he was studying for...

Re: Can assets in a foreign bank account be counted on the I-864?

OK, so they're going to want an email or something from the bank detailing the regulations around how I can take out the money in addition to a bank statement?

Can assets in a foreign bank account be counted on the I-864?

Can assets in a foreign bank account (i.e., neither a UK nor a US account) be counted towards the I-864 assets requirements? I would have to physically go over there to withdraw/transfer the money...

Re: Self-employed, can we use current income for I-864?

Yes, I did look at that thanks, but the line "if the sponsor’s income is from a job that is merely temporary or seasonal," seems like it comes down to interpretation. The job has been going on since...

Re: Self-employed, can we use current income for I-864?

Yes, it is of course easier to fire a contractor and I haven't read the contract in detail but I'd assume it's fairly easy for them to give him notice and vice versa. So what does that impy? Would...

Re: Self-employed, can we use current income for I-864?

OK, thanks for the reply. He is in the process of filing his most recent three years tax returns though he only started doing this sort of work in Dec '11, so for the most part the tax returns won't...

I'm trying to understand what we need to do with regard to proving sufficient financial support. I posted about this awhile back but got some conflicting advice across forums so thought I'd post...

Re: Vaccinations

OK so I'm in the same boat, I'd need the Tdap/Td and MMR. I know I've had the MMR shots as a kid but don't have any documentation to prove it. Does anyone know if you can get a blood test or...

Re: Confused about whether I need to complete an I-864A

Confused about whether I need to complete an I-864A

There's me (UKC wife), USC DH and two dual-national small children. We will be proving the money side of things via income on my husband's side. So do I need to fill out the I-864A?

bank statements: are web printouts ok or do we need paper statements?

All of DH's bank and other statements are paperless and I'm wondering if printouts of online statements are sufficent proof or does he need to switch to paper accounts?
