Brooklin certainly isn't walking distance to GO - you're right, I missed that! However, worth noting that there are are good bus links to the station which are used by a lot of people.

We live in Brooklin, technically part of Whitby but just north of it. Has a good reputation for families - plenty of elementary schools, both Catholic and not, with a high school planned to open in...

I also did it direct with the relevant registry offices last year - prices and timescales vary but both quite speedy and efficient. Worth a phone call as I'm sure those sites will charge more!

We had a letter from the immigration lawyers handling the matter but just took the CIC paperwork plus passports/visas to CIC. Just had to sign the forms, they kept a bit (to get the PR cards etc)...

...and remember you don't have to flagpole either - we wnt to our local CIC office with all the paperwork. We were in and out in 20 mins - 10 of that was sitting in a waiting room, 10 was signing...
