Well done you-join the club as I have an OU degree in Social Sciences too- it took me ages but like you I felt the sense of achievement well worth the long effort to get there.

I also think that too many people have bought property for investment, seeing it as a one-way bet, instead of property as a home.

That's my understanding too. The amateur buy to let fraternity have vanished and banks are being more picky about who they allow to borrow, and old fashioned deposits are back in fashion. Not before...

Cash is king, no doubt about that at the present time. Sooner or later prices will come down and people will be prepared to buy. Banks are running scared at the prospect of lending on overvalued...

The banks will have more money to lend but they will be determined not to lend on properties that are overvalued. Last years price is no longer realistic.

I had delays on my trains to Brussels and back the other week- 45 minutes one way and 90 minutes the other- awful.
