Re: Subiaco Primary School and Perth Modern Senior High School

Perth Modern is one of the best high schools in the state. Admission is by entrance exam only and the student needs to come in the top 2 percentile for the state.

Don't know anything about...

Re: God!! So many private schools!!

You'll not last long in Ireland if you walk about with that superior attitude!

I have to laugh at the irony of your post - from Liverpool to Bray is a move up!
Why are you moving there if you...

I wasn't aware that unionism or socialism of any kind banned coffee drinking?

But seriously, I get what you mean. As a teacher I find the unions here obsessed with money and political game...

Re: Aply for visa 175 while on 457

Thanks so much both of you.

I have 120 points and my boyfriend has 130, so I think we're going to go for it to give ourselves the option. The only extra stickler is the professional recognition...

Re: PPS Number

Re: Aply for visa 175 while on 175

I wouldn't mind reviving this thread as with 175 re-opened, I would like to apply.

I am trying to avoid being sponsored by my employer for PR as they want to tie me to a remote location for...

Onshore General Skilled Migration still being processed?

I notice the DIAC site says the skilled migrant visas are temporarily suspended, but from some posts on here, people are still talking about applying while onshore.

Is there an independent...

Re: Career to emigrate with...

Teaching and social work are intense jobs - too much so to be in them just for a visa. They are not jobs you can do if you're not really, really into them.

Kids deserve to have a teacher in front...

Hi,

I've been in Oz almost 1.5 years and have had a mortgage in the UK for my flat which I have owned for 6 years. I rent it out, but my tenants are moving on. As the interest rates went down a...

Re: Irish Bank accounts

Authentic identity and residence is a basic requirement of a bank account. In the UK you need what, a minimum of 2 proofs of address. UK banks have historically, been pretty shoddy to Irish customers...

Re: Where's the best place to earn £$€

Best wages at the moment are in rural towns in Western Oz. Significantly better money than back in Ireland or Scotland and certainly better than English salaries! I'm earning more than I would in...

Re: Life in the country - WA!

Yup, it's well and good to say "don't go to a shit hole" but all the jobs are in the places like the Pilbara, Kimberley and the Midwest. PLenty of shitholes to choose from in all those regions!

Re: Newly qualified teacher -induction year in Aus..is it possible?

Re: Newly qualified teacher -induction year in Aus..is it possible?

It can be done but it's not easy. Anyway, it's a moot point as you can't teach in Oz with your course. Your biggest issue is the fact that you won't be recognised as a teacher in Australia having...

Re: would like some advice

I third this. Leaving aside the morality of emigrating to a country and your first stop being the welfare office, there are bugger all jobs, cost of living is still high and things are grim right now.
