Storing a houseful of 'stuff'

We are looking at selling our UK house and buying elsewhere in UK. As we live overseas this could mean we won't find the next house for a while, maybe 12 months or more.

Re: Declaring Assets To Inland Revenue

Seek out a contributor called 'Meow' on the Middle East forum. She is a financial guru and seems to be able to answer queries such as this.

PM her and I am sure she will help you.

Victor.

Re: Life Coaching? is it worth it? where do you start?

I like that bit - made me laugh - very cynical - very 'Meldrewesque'.

There is a place for 'revisiting' old material as this often shapes the person you are and can get you stuck in a particular...

Re: Life Coaching? is it worth it? where do you start?

I've been on t'interweb today looking at life coaching. A number seem to also have NLP, counselling, psychology training.

I am going to email a few to find out more. Looking like the cost ranges...

Life Coaching? is it worth it? where do you start?

I'll start off by stating that BE is a great forum for getting information, advice, support and just some general banter.

However, there are limitations (no offence intended BE people). Sometimes...

Re: Suggestions/Advice on Locations to Live in the UK

I have to say, having lived in a large city in UK before living in the Middle East (which ironically is a lot more peaceful and secure in lots of ways than let's say..... Nottingham or other similar...

Re: Suggestions/Advice on Locations to Live in the UK

If you are talking about buying a house, then it is doable to search/find one in July and have it before Christmas, yes.

From the point of having your offer accepted, it takes around 12...

Re: Suggestions/Advice on Locations to Live in the UK

Although working overseas, our UK home base is in North Cheshire. We are a 1 hr drive from Birmingham so I would guess a one and half/two hour drive from Warwickshire.

Cheshire house prices can also...

Re: Suggestions/Advice on Locations to Live in the UK

I am guessing you have looked closely at the whole non-EU wife visa issue and the associated financial conditions - particularly if you don't get a job.

Even a minimum wage job probably isn't going...

Re: Watch Warrington Wolves Rugby

Although not the same as watching it live, BBC news website carries live scores and updates - Warrington currently making hard work of what should be an easy win vs Wakefield - 34-41 with Warrington...

Re: Watch Warrington Wolves Rugby

Showtime sports show Super League, but not all matches. Warrington are playing tonight, but not being shown on Showtime. They showed the Widnes game last night.

It's very much a hit and miss.

Re: British Schools in Dubai

Teachers at most schools are mainly on 2 year initial contracts followed by 1 year renewable. The average stay for a teacher is between 5 and 7 years.

JESS (Jumeirah) have not fired all of it's PE...

That's excellent, well done.

We obviously have different experiences of the British Schools in Dubai, which is why we are both giving different opinions.

Re: British Schools in Dubai

You are correct, your theory is not rocket science but it also isn't realistic in most of the schools I know of - most of the better schools which are also in demand with waiting lists.

You won't...

Re: British Schools in Dubai

You won't get an appointment with the Principal (unless you are a Sheikh?) if it is just to discuss a place at the school. You would have to get past the Admissions Office and the Head's PA first -...

Re: Friends in high places

I usually interject half way through the hard sell and say:

Standard Chartered:'No sir I don't need a car'
Me:'But it's a nice car, Jeep, 40k,...
