Hi Vettemaster

Yes, we're leaving our house next Thursday. Frantically taking apart furniture and still taking junk to the tip. House still not sold - we've now put it up for let.

Sadly, my...

Re: NS immigration

Hi S

We know someone who did just this. I think they found it very hard as they ended up waiting a couple of years for the process to be finalised. I think part of it was the not knowing if they...

Standard of "clean" for shipping - bikes, shoes etc

Can't find anywhere what is meant by not contaminated by soil.

Status update for Kaye5:

I have just crawled out from under about 20 bin bags full of the most amazing load of junk I have pulled out of our closets and cupboards. This is our umpteenth...

Re: our shipping company search

+1

Strangely, I had just this morning noted to remove vital documents from my "office" folders the night before (like our car papers, various certificates AND the Canadian paperwork)! I had visions...

Re: our shipping company search

Exciting times! We're not far behind you. Packers arrive 29th May. We fly out on 13th June - also via Iceland though sadly we couldn't afford a stopover.

Re: Trouble getting info from UK motor insurers....

Thankfully, my insurance company did the pursuing for me, but I have done it myself in the past and won.

Two guys racing on a dual carriageway ran into the back of my car at the lights; had my 3...

Re: Trouble getting info from UK motor insurers....

Did I say we were accident free? I said we had three non-fault accidents.

The letters I have now obtained state clearly the number of years no claims awarded and also detail the accidents and that...

Re: Trouble getting info from UK motor insurers....

Hi Nina

From what others in NS have said, it seemed probable that Johnsons might be the cheapest for us, so making sure their requirements are covered before we leave the UK - it was them who told...

Re: Trouble getting info from UK motor insurers....

Good lord.

Call back - as you will almost certainly get a different person. Another person might have a different view. Sometimes worth a try. Good luck!

Re: Trouble getting info from UK motor insurers....

I am still working on it.

Had to spoon feed them all, at least 3 phone calls - one to request the info, the other calls to correct the letter (one I am on the 6th request to correct what they have...

Re: Car Insurance.

I am experiencing this hell right now.... been trying for 2 months. All my companies took at least 3 attempts and that was with being "spoon fed" what was required. I have so far received 4 out of...

Holy moly!!

About time - congratulations! So... what are you waiting for - book the flights!

Yes, ours had a funny date of expiry too (later than the medicals).

We took about a week to get all...

Re: Proof of NCB for Manitoba Provincial Insurance

If you only need one from your current insurer, be thankful.

I am still struggling to get sensible and accurate letters from 6 years' worth of insurers, per the NS insurer company request.

Re: Air Transat experiences?

I think they are in the process of upgrading their planes throughout this year which is why there seems to be a mix of old and new.

From memory, the ones with the seat back TVs rather than...

Re: timescales for PNP/ Pr applications from outside Canada

Congrats on the MRs!

That length of time isn't unheard of - ours were received mid June and we had to wait until early July.

Good luck for 10th May! :)
