Re: FBAR

I asked him how he reported my UK pension on the return and he said he put it on line 16a of page one of the 1040. He told me no special form is required unless I was taking a foreign tax credit.

Re: returning to the UK from the US to retire after 36 years

Now I am confused. Nun says above that the US pension administrator will withhold tax on social security.

By the way, I receive a US private pension and it is not taxed in the US.

He has, however,...

Re: Sending a cat back to the UK

It might not be much help but I flew two smallish dogs from the USA to the UK. I was really surprised at the price. It cost no more than about 2000 U.S. Dollars and that included landing fees. I did...

Re: Came home and renounced US citizenship - "Final" tax return sanity check.

IMHO, I would never get citizenship. If you decide to go to another country the IRS follows you around forever to claim their tax on income earned elsewhere. I had to become a citizen because of my...

Good for you in renouncing your citizenship. I will be doing the same but at the moment I am in the dark as to what steps to take to get it done and what requirements I have to meet. Can you tell me...

Re: Acquiring UPS Mailbox in USA from UK

The thing is I don't want the mail coming all the way here only to have to put it in an envelope and send to accountant over there.

Re: UK/USA Taxes etc.

And then there's FBAR and FATCA. Not quite sure what they are but I believe FBAR is a U.S./IRS form that asks for details of all bank accounts in which there has been more than 10,000 dollars in it...
