I asked him how he reported my UK pension on the return and he said he put it on line 16a of page one of the 1040. He told me no special form is required unless I was taking a foreign tax credit.

Now I am confused. Nun says above that the US pension administrator will withhold tax on social security.

By the way, I receive a US private pension and it is not taxed in the US.

Vadio, thanks for replying in detail.

I returned in July 2015. I collect a small UK state pension and a small US company pension. Both of these were reported to my US accountant for prep of 2015...

I understand now. Nearest Mailboxes etc. office to me is way in the city centre unfortunately.

In the meantime I found out that my bank manager can notarise whatever documents UPS mailbox needs...

And then there's FBAR and FATCA. Not quite sure what they are but I believe FBAR is a U.S./IRS form that asks for details of all bank accounts in which there has been more than 10,000 dollars in it...
