Actually can't find where I read the benefits we get count as income, bit worrying, think I am mixing up visa fees and mortgage, hopefully already on the route it won't change other wise we may be...

If it wasn't for state benefit counting towards my household income we would be below the threshold by some distance, the wife can't work as she is full time carer for the kids she only gets about 9...

Aye that's good advice about visas, after two years you used to switch to Canadian experience class which with certain jobs you could get express entry, trucking is still one of them.

Definitely get your degree if I had the chance, that kind of qualification in Canada is huge, alot of jobs ask for a degree level of education even if really it doesn't make much sense like transport...

Yep you can do MELTS on IEC no problem.

Also you do not need uk class 1 to head over and start, it's definitely not an easy career and there will be a "right of passage" moment at a company for 2...

hourly is definitely a kicker, I worked in trucking hourly and the forced overtime was horrendous on the body but very well paid, not sure if it's better than the overtime at flat rate in UK but less...
