ENS (Sub 186) Transition Stream - Healt exam, compulsory?

Does the Department of Immigration ask EVERYONE go through these medical exams (inc say my UK partner and I who've been here 2 years) , or just people from at risk jurisdictions?

Hi folks,

Given my defacto spouse and I are already on a 457 VISA and can apply for PR on July 4th 2013, how long should we allow to ready the documentation?

Is it vastly different from the 457...

I keep saying to folks how it's only when you leave Europe do you realise how easy it was to pop to Rome, Berlin, Barcelona etc.

If I can do that for 2/3 months at the weekends...

I'm currently working in Australia on a 457 VISA.

Come Feb 2013 I'll have racked up 20 months with the same company and all will look good for a July...

My firm increased the salaries of some so we'd at least keep the same take home pay from July 1st; raises which were planned just got swallowed up by this manoeuvre.

Though not ideal the October...

Reading the newspapers you'd consider it a fait accompli, but other sources say it may be withdrawn in a staggered fashion.

However I think the announcement in 2011 was classic politics - put the horror story of all the worst...

Thanks Ian, have you heard anything about the "rumour" going around that they will stop new LAFHA applications from July 2012 but may extend the LAFHA scheme for another 12 months for those already...

I was in an identical position - luckily I had only a total of 5 years and 1 month experience in my field. Getting the Statements of Service (signed by the companies I worked for) was a bit time...
