Re: Are Plumbers wanted in Canada?

Life here is neither better nor worse than the UK, it's just very different. Some like it some don't, and return to the UK as a result. Be very careful if you're "giving up a lot", try and spend...

Re: UK plumber in need of help!!

No problem Linz3112, that was my only point, without getting too involved with the certification at different levels of works carried out. It is quite possible and legal to gain "employment" without...

Re: UK plumber in need of help!!

I think this has been done to death now. Obviously I have spoken to them also. One thing is for sure, you won't find the answer on the web, too many contradictions and inaccurate postings etc. ...

Re: UK plumber in need of help!!

Well I thought that too, but read this:

In response to your query. ITA does not regulate this trade. This means that if you are not certified it is up to your employer to decide whether he would...

Re: UK plumber in need of help!!

Sorry, but it isn't. That link does not say anything about regulation of the trade, it's just about training for certification. Other provinces regulate this trade, BC does'nt. To save further...

Re: UK plumber in need of help!!

This trade is not regulated in BC so he can work with his UK credentials. The problem will be finding an employer willing to employ him without the Red Seal.

Re: Noobie Question

Firstly, if life in Italy is fine then why try and fix it by leaving? Secondly, you make it sound quite easy to become an electrician at the drop of a hat. It takes a minimum of 4 years...

Re: Looking for advice from UK electrician/engineer in Canada

Well, for a start you will need your visa before you need to worry about skills recognition. If you don't have a job offer then the FSW route is probably the best option. Once you have that you...

Re: PPR Cards arrived.

I think the only way to keep things running as smoothly as possible is to keep ringing for progress updates. If you sit back and wait to be contacted about any potential problem ie. photo's, then...

Re: PPR Cards arrived.

Why not ask your friend to call posing as you? Just require client ID number, name, address, DOB etc. Usual security stuff.

Re: PPR Cards arrived.

I rang immigration yesterday and was told 42 business days to wait. Also told I was at the 32 day stage and it will be mailed to me after 42 days. I asked if photo's were ok and she said "nothing...

Re: REFUSAL OF VISITOR EXTENSION

Like you said in your post, they thought you had left! That tells you they have no idea where you are, in or out of Canada. Just stay, they will never know and you'll be fine.

Re: PR Card

Think this site is just for the application process, ie. your initial application and detailed application to London etc.
I don't think it covers the "PR card" it's self, processing status.
Mine...

I 'm sure this has been asked before but: Do I need to provide a new set of photo's on "Landing" to apply for my PR card, or are the ones already submitted with my application and also attached to...

Re: Notarising your past work experience

Hi Martyn,

I am planning the same thing too. I think that is what you do if all other avenues are not available, or failing that, a combination of both.
Have you done any studying for the exam? ...

Re: Lost passport - replacement visa possible?

I would think not. I think you would need to re-apply from scratch. I personally would not take the risk of losing it before you activate it upon landing as these things are getting harder to...

Re: FSW. Trades

About 3 weeks ago, sent off RPRF at the same time. I have heard it takes 6-8 weeks to hear anything. Btw, how are you finding the work situation over there and where are you based?
