We aren't taking furniture just our belongings that we couldn't replace, and clothes, a few bits and bobs and Dh's tools (including the strimmer!)

Find a local pool store and get friendly, they will help. The local one to us was called Leslies, they would test water you brought in and recommend what chemicals and how much.

Don't buy unless you have a green card on the way (as in already applied for not just promised for some day), or you could be stuck with trying to unload property quickly if things go belly up.

That was for a 40 foot container, enough stuff to furnish a 3 or 4 bed house.
We've only got a couple hundred cubic feet. our quote is about $2000 from warehouse to door.
