Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

You'll need the approved LCA by Dept of Labor from the new company, a letter from the company detailing the company description and your job duties and degree requirement, and documents proving that...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

When you enter under E-3, the questions you're most likely gonna be asked are "What company do you work for?", "What will your job be?", and "What do your job duties entail?" Since E-3 can be renewed...

Re: Fulbright and the 2-year HRR

There are different ways to obtain waivers, in some cases a statement of No objection from your home country will be sufficient. You may want to look into it.

And why J-1? Is it because it'll be...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

When you go for a visa interview, they don't necessarily ask for proof of license (I never got asked in my past two E-3's). If they do, it's probably up to the individual consular officer to...

Re: DS 160 question confusion

When I think of professional organizations, I think of organizations like American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, etc. I guess when in doubt, it doesn't hurt to list them. I...

Re: Returning to UK, concerned about future visits to USA

Sounds to me that you extended your H1-B status until 2015 but never reapplied for a visa stamp from a consulate abroad. Once you leave the U.S., presumably your visa stamp will have expired by that...

Re: DV Lottery

Actually I think sometimes even if you enter random info on the status check, it'll still show up as "HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED", at least that was the case when I tried a few years ago.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

My feeling is that a new LCA will be needed, because the salary will presumably change as well.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

A photocopy of the signed LCA is fine from my experience.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

If you job requires a J.D. degree then you meet the requirement for E-3.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

When I applied for my E-3 renewal last time, I couldn't type in the LCA approval number correctly (For some weird reason, it won't take the letter "I", so I just typed the number "1" instead), but...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Yea, I also believe you can't submit the DS160 form without the LCA approval number. It's good to keep that in mind when you do your next visa renewal. Try to get the LCA approved well ahead of time.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I believe a photocpy is fine, as long as it's signed by the employer.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

This is just answering the same questions over and over and over and over again.

Look at your LCA: Your name is not on there. LCA can be used for approving multiple employees with same job titles...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Similar/identical questions have been raised many many many many times before. Should be fine but do at your own risk. If visa got denied, yes it'll adversely affect future visa applications.

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Well, I think you should pull up your LCA approval and take a look. It has all the salary info, and number of employee the company requests for approval (I guess they can apply for multiple employee...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, when the company applies for a new or renew an existing LCA, it's not tied to a particular person (If you look carefully at your current LCA, your name is not...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

My experience has been that for E-3 they're not too strict about providing evidence of non-immigrant intent, compared to say, people applying for tourist visas (B1, B2). You do have to indicate that...

Re: B2 Denial - followed by ESTA denial

I do agree with Michael that it should be more clear to those who are about to apply for B-2 visa that their chances won't be high if they're otherwise eligible for VWP, and that a B-2 denial will...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

As much as I hate to say this, you should consult the merged company's lawyer about this instead. The forum is good for more general questions or questions on more commonly encountered scenarios....

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

To me this is not necessarily a clear cut area. It has been posted here multiple times that having a pending permanent residency petition cannot be the sole reason for denying a E-3. However, E-3...

Re: Esta visa needed for 1 1/2 hour layover?

I think some countries (eg. China) will let you enter the country without a visa for less than a certain number of hours (Eg. <48 hrs) provided that you can show reservation/boarding pass for a...

All J-1 visas used for the purpose for residency/fellowship training are subject to the two year home residence requirement.

Changing the type of J-1 you mentioned to E-3 is a bit tricky...It's...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

The E-3 visa stamp itself doesn't specify the approved working period on the LCA, but it does have the numbers of the approved LCA. In the past 3 years or so, whenever I entered under E-3, I wasn't...
