We bought our Crate and Barrel floor lights back from the USA - they are plugged into a convertor, and we bought USA bulbs from Amazon - work perfectly! NOt sure if a ceiling light would work or not...

This made me laugh - it could be written about me! In July, we moved back to the Uk after 3 years in DC. I never thought of myself as a socialist, but I really couldnt get over the bloody mindedness...

Our packers come next Monday, and we return on Thursday .... am getting very cold feet, especially as I am spending every day sitting in the sun by the community pool!

I am moving back at the end of June too - so excited. Have been in the States 3 years now. I will miss some things here - weather, scenery, shopping, but I am truly British and cant wait to get back...

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have looked online on the USPS site to arrange for my post to be redirected from the USA to the UK when we move. However, it seems you can only do this...

Oh Jemima - I think as you say 'grit your teeth' and 'stiff upper lip' and all that! It is reassuring to know we are not the only ones having to go through this - although it doesnt make it right....
