He doesn't have his High School Diploma because he isn't old enough. He's a sophomore and has two years before he graduates. I will have a look some more but do you know where you read that?

Thanks. I found that but just to be clear, college in England is 16 to 18. That's not a college site that I could see. It covers University which is usually 18+.
