Re: Pet Transport Recommendations

Animals go as cargo on passenger flights.

Everything in the hold of a plane is cargo, whether it's animal, passenger luggage, or other items being transported. You cannot just fly them like an...

Re: Pet Transport Recommendations

I can't manage a blow by blow account, it's detailed and I don't remember it all.

The first chunk is here, regarding getting the health certificate.

Re: Pet Transport Recommendations

I don't think that's right, unless it has changed in the last 18 months. I did my own from the US to the UK, successfully, in May of 2022.

What you do need is a UK broker on the UK end to process...

Re: Travel to Mombasa

I'm quite keen on adventures, just not when it comes to staying up in the air.

Re: Travel to Mombasa

Yeah. The only gap will be to and from airport and hotel since peoe are coming from different starting points. I'm sure there's a taxicsystem though. My main interest wS which internal airline to...

Re: Travel to Mombasa

New places and experiences are among my most favourite things ever. I also need to try and find where I left my French, since for the non-English speakers that's likely to be the favoured language...

Re: Travel to Mombasa

Doesn't BE have a fund for that sort of thing for veteran members?

Re: Travel to Mombasa

Thanks, SOS. That's very helpful. I didn't fancy the sound of "Jambojet" at all, but maybe it's ok  I think I'll stick to the parent company - sometimes frills are good.

I wish I were going...

Re: Travel to Mombasa

Yes, I've read that too. Yet I suppose the citizens of Mombasa manage to go about their lives ok? I won't have time for sightseeing anyway, since it's a work trip.

What about the internal...

Travel to Mombasa

I will probably be going to Mombasa in October for work. It's a loooong trip, due to no direct flights from the UK to Mombasa and having to change in Nairobi. I would be interested in any...

Re: Miss the UK. Need advice on moving back.

Step one - answer ALL of Pulaski's questions carefully. If you don't know an answer, you will have to find out but don't guess or assume.

Re: Pet Transport Recommendations

I was recommended Air Animal, but I'm afraid that was a couple of years ago and I ended up managing it all myself due to the vast sums of money (3 - 4k usd) all the agencies wanted. Be aware that the...

Re: Miss the UK. Need advice on moving back.

Are you studying, or planning to do uni, or working? And if you are an Israeli citizen and required to do military service, you will have to factor that in too. If you are not entitled to British...

Re: Miss the UK. Need advice on moving back.

As Helen1964 says, if you can swing it, take the trip. It wouldn't be instead of, but in addition to any longer term plan you can make. In the meantime, scratch the itch and see what it feels like,...

Re: Miss the UK. Need advice on moving back.

You're 18 - the whole world is waiting for you.

Looks like you aren't British, but you have all the time in the world and nothing you do now will seal your fate forever and you don't have to make...

Re: Home and garden projects

This one is older - the conversion from a maltings was done in '98, but still no updates. The water is incredibly packed with minerals and leaves heavy deposit everywhere. So far, I haven't put the...

Re: Home and garden projects

This isn't exactly a project, but - those little balls you get to put into your shower head that supposedly reduce water deposit or something. Do they actually do any good, and do they impede water...

Re: Travelling through UK & France: which passports?

Luck of the draw, really, based on crowds. I waited at Geneva, but the EU passport gate had no queue at all. Small airport though.

Re: Travelling through UK & France: which passports?

Re: Home and garden projects

No idea, tbh. My sister also has a shower pump. It seems to be a thing, but my knowledge on the subject is pretty much zero.

Re: Home and garden projects

This is the one they took out last year when it went belly up. They left it here for some reason, and it's easier to take pics of since it's accessible.
