Re: Going For Citizenship

Take care - you have to take an American test: even though they call it an English test. It's so simple. However, they may ask you to write: The colors in our flag are red, white and blue". And by...

Re: Tax Returns for K1 Visa

Tax returns for 2008 were due on or before April 15th 2009. He should have filed for an extension before that date. His tax form is overdue if he did not.
As others will have pointed out filing a...

Re: Had US citizenship interview...but waiting for oath ceremony... :(

My (expedited as well) passport was 8 actual days over the Thanksgiving period, so I don't think that this will be the rate-determining step, do you?

I was bitten by the USCIS (INS as it was then)...

Re: Had US citizenship interview...but waiting for oath ceremony... :(

I'm not sure where your ceremony will be. rescheduling the ceremony shouldn't be a problem - but as Ian say, it gives more chance for mistakes. Can't you change your 'plane tickets for another later...

Re: US drivers license if non resident?

Probably just minor confusion here - when I had a GC and moved to a new town I got a letter for jury duty. The postcard had a section to indicate why you couldn't serve and one section was 'Alien'...

Re: Another VWP question - 4 times in a year?

I used to come to the US 4 or 5 times a year for business with most trips lasting 10 - 14 days (with the occasional shorter one). Never, ever had any issues. Didn't know what 'secondary' was until I...

Re: US drivers license if non resident?

Only could get called for jury duty if they were a US citizen - obviously GC holders (with a A#) don't qualify for jury duty (and indeed if served would be calling themselves a US citizen with all...

Re: Tickets and Citations & N-400

Answering 'yes' does not hurt your application in this instance... Answering 'no' when you have committed a crime would.
This will be of no consequence whatsoever in the interview. You are...

Re: New to the Forum - My Journey Begins

But the (UK) birth certificate may be required at the marriage stage - State dependent of course.
So when you're finally across in the US, don't forget to bring it with you!

Good luck!

Re: English Expat, married in U.S. should we marry again in U.K this summer?

While that may be the case, any foreign visitor (i.e. non-EEC passport) coming to the UK could be refused entry by the POE official. Obviously this can't happen with a UK passport. Also they may be...

Re: Became a PR or USC last year? Who else did?

Well - Table 21c shows 67 people of US birth became US citizens/nuturalized. Must be one of those non-50 state issues (Virgin or other island?)!
Maybe Mr. F or someone else qualified will explain...

Re: US Driving License/I-94 date - help

I'm in MA too and my understanding by reading the RMV book was that the 12months rule was applicable only if visiting. Once resident, then I thought that there is no (or is it 7 days?) grace period....
