I worked there a few years back - when it was being built. Fantasic airport and yes it is the biggest in the world if you measure the whole area inside the perimeter fence.

Its not just the press then as I expected.

All I'm saying is I wish people would put this place in perspective its only the size of birmingham but attracts an unfair amount of criticism.

It appears to me that its open season for knocking Dubai, okay its suffering from the global downturn but isn't everywhere else. Its probably because its been the most successful city in the world...

My god, I thought Sharbatly Village would have been demolished by now, I lived there in the 80's when Jeddah was booming, Arabian Homes was much better - but expensive. I was there for 4 years...
