Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

I'd postpone it too but she flies out in September to activate her PR before the October deadline.

Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

Alan the OP has to land before October so the option of waiting isn't an option...maybe AmyDavids advice on making a few calls would be advisable to be on the safe side.

Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

I have encountered the first proof of funds today from someone who landed in December, before that I haven't heard of anyone on this forum so far that has had to.

Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

There's nothing misleading about it...you DON'T need proof of "ready" cash when you land...FACT!! do you honestly think they are gonna refuse her entry if she hasn't got over $10,000 readily...

Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

What's actually stated and when you get to immigration is totally different, we didn't have to prove how much cash we had on us and the only declaration we signed was to confirm that the details the...

Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

When you get to immigration they will ask you about your funds but not everyone has had to provide proof (we didn't) however to be on the safe side I'd take your recent mortgage statement, you don't...

Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

Yes you can land with proof of funds even if it's still tied up in your property, ours was on the market when we landed and everything was ok...just get over and land that's the most important thing...

Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

Don't do it unless you have settlement funds, you could be setting yourself up to fail before you even begin your new life.
My OH had a job to go to when we landed, 10 weeks in they let him go...

Re: "Kids are kids for much longer"

Values shape who we are, for example:
Honesty
Integrity
Trustworthy
Loyalty
Respect

Does that mean you have none of the above?

These values are what people look for in others, that's why they're...

Re: "Kids are kids for much longer"

We all have different values, yours won't be the same as mine but that doesn't mean mine are any better or worse than yours and I certainly wouldn't question anyone elses just because I didn't agree...

Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

I agree, it's better to be safe than sorry but just going on our experience...we didn't show any proof of funds (unencumbered) when we landed.

Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

Yes you could, immigration will ask you what your world wide assets are but you won't be asked to show proof...you already did that when you applied to emigrate.
It's not a good time to sell at the...

Re: house not sold yet starting to panic

We had a similar situation with our home initially, couldn't...

Re: So what would the Canadians truly love to tell UK immigrants if they could?
