Re: 90 days / B2

Intent is a fair point of course and whilst I know I wouldn't overstay or try to live there, doesn't mean those with the say so would believe that.

The church volunteer work is only 1 day a week...

Re: 90 days / B2

I was thinking around Christmas time anyway to spend Christmas/new year with friends in the States.

Disappointing to hear that they are so hard to get hold of but thanks for the advice. I wouldn't...

90 days / B2

Hi folks,

A couple of weeks ago, I returned from a 90 day visa-waiver trip to the USA (about 88 days in fact). I'm a U.K. citizen.

Whilst there, I was invited by my host to attend a church...

This is probably the best site - CIC's.

Guides you through eligibility and then application.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp

Key things - you'll...

Re: Need Assiatnce in skill migration

Try this - and see if your duties match.

IMHO, they do as you don't have to match *every skill* the NOC code description asks for. Still, that's my opinion and it's immigration Canada's opinion...

Re: Chemical Engineer fails to find work

I can't speak for the area of work involving being a 'chemical engineer' (others can probably assist there) but this much I do know - it would seem that job title is on the wanted list for this year....

Re: Educational Credential Assessment

It all hinges on the education assessment - Edexcel found something I'd somewhat forgotten about as 'completed'. It was a 2 year program.

If it counts as such and all other points work as I'd...

Re: Educational Credential Assessment

Canadian experience I presume would be valued highly - but what of foreign experience in the eyes of employers- or does that depend upon the field of work?

I'm sure the non resident status had a...

Re: Educational Credential Assessment

I've been out to Canada for a long time and networked, applied for jobs but only 2 companies got back to me. 1 of which didn't want to go through the LMO process again (they'd already done that for...

Re: Educational Credential Assessment

Thanks both.

PMM- that's the impression I got from the CIC website but one of the assessment organisations confused me with some seemingly ambiguous wording.

Upon reading their FAQ pages, it's...

Re: Educational Credential Assessment

This may be a bit of a bump, but it seemed the first thread relevant to what I needed.

I completed secondary school education, did 2 GCSEs and the first year of an A level at college.

That I...

Re: FSW 2013 - Complete Applications Counted

Hmm. I'm about to faint... I've just spent a mostly fruitless time whilst actually in Canada trying to find employment. Now I see a couple of things on 'THE LIST' that covers my area of expertise.

Re: Cover Letters

Thanks for the advice. I'm already on LinkedIn and have found it an excellent way to connect with folk in my industry - have found many an offer come my way but just not in the country I'd like of...

Cover Letters

So I'm currently in Canada until June.

I've been applying for jobs (with a view to the LMO/TWP path) but I've been wondering about cover letters.

Naturally, I've read the wiki articles and...

Re: Im a nurse, get me out of here!

Hmm, in your first post you mentioned that you had every document that you needed including an LMO?

Did you have that before or after you went to the border?

Assuming the LMO was still valid...

Re: Im a nurse, get me out of here!

I hope it works out for you and for the sake of your patients that they still manage to get some semblance of decent care in the absence of such specialised skills.

Re: TWP Holder/2012 FSW Applications done inside of Canada
