Re: Employment Lawyer

But you're not helping - you're just trying to be clever. And failing.

The link shows that there are a large number of employment lawyers. I'm pretty sure I could call any of them and find that...

Re: Employment Lawyer

FFS: I want to know if anyone can recommend a lawyer that deals with employment issues. Why are you all being so annoyingly pedantic - if you can't help or are not being funny (and you are NOT being...

Re: Employment Lawyer

I wasn't offended: just surprised. I'm pretty sure the term 'Employment Lawyer" is self-explanatory and this may be a site about the USA but most of the people that frequent the place are British so...

Re: Employment Lawyer

Really? You couldn't just answer a simple question the meaning of which is plainly obvious to anyone with more than 3 brain cells or simply ignore it if you have no answer?

Re: Registering a U.S branch of a UK company with sunbiz

You may find some useful information on https://www.legalzoom.com/

You could also speak to http://www.britishexpatstax.com/. A Brit called Pete Newton who is qualified here and in the UK. Very...

Re: Moving to LA region

5) You need to base this on school district, so I've been told. The LAUSD has a poor reputation so look for other school districts close to LA. (You'll have to research this as I have no idea - my...

Re: Migration Options to USA

LOL: I meant to go out of his way to do so rather than let it happen by chance.

Or is that what you meant? :-)

Re: Migration Options to USA

The best way, if not being transferred, is to come to the city you are most interested in living in and apply for jobs whilst on holiday. Employers/agencies are usually unwilling to deal with anyone...

Re: What car?

If the company are paying then lease - you can hand it back after 3 years and the company will pay anything outstanding. You will pay a premium due to the mileage but, again, it ain't your dime. Note...

Re: Can this be done?

You should check the status of working for each country as it applies to your situation. You certainly cannot do any work whilst in the US without an appropriate visa.

Re: London to New York...stuck

I think you'll find that unless you are here and available to interview nothing will happen. Most agents/employers are not going to waste their time on someone who is a) overseas and b) has no visa...

Re: demand for Business Administration jobs?

There are many job sites out there: find the one that has roles that suit your trade or profession. Try and make some contacts through your current business or perhaps there is a professional...

Re: Hello from DeepsouthAtlanta!

There's a guy here who thinks I support Tottingham Forest. I can't be asked to put him right and he'd probably forget anyway. Does make me laugh.

Re: BA Sale Now On

The fares are nuts. Just checked a flight around Christmas (okay, I know that pushes the price up) from LA to Heathrow. Over $3000, cattle class!!! Thats $1380ish in fees and extortions. Ridiculous.

What do you think? Do you have your own thoughts? Does your wife let you think?

Since no one here has a time...

Re: Price of transatlantic flight.

Just did LAX to LHR on a new AA jet (no idea which model) and it was great. Decent seats and legroom, big screens in the seat-back with tons of choice and the food was actually pretty digestible....

Re: Hello from DeepsouthAtlanta!

I've not found it to be as you describe at all. Perhaps that's because LA is a lot more laid back than most places though there is still some dog-eat-dog and you need to hustle to make a buck, so to...

Re: Price of transatlantic flight.

Prices appear to have risen markedly in the last 2 years. I recently paid $1600 for a round trip to LHR from LAX, cattle class. At least it was bearable in BA and pretty good on a brand new AA plane...

Re: making choice to halt at door to citizenship

I can't wait to get US citizenship: I just can't see a downside to it (other than, perhaps, the cost).

I'm not sure I buy into the notion that getting a US passport means you have to give up what...
