Re: Into England with an expired passport. Dual citizen.

To be honest, I expected (and deserved) a tougher time. Plus the photo doesn't look anything like me as I am today. In the photo I had very short spiky hair, and now I have past shoulder length hair....

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up

I would never, ever have said I would actually enjoy working with and...

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up

Just off to have some mushy peas, chips and gravy for dinner. May have either a cherry bakewell cake or some ginger cake and a cup of tea for 'afters'.

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up

He is still in the US yes. We talk, Skype regularly and I go out there. So far he still doesn't want to come here and he's still 'okay' with me being here. We've agreed that when either one of us...

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up

Ah you see you have it right. I 'wasted' a few months holding out for a 'well paid' (by UK standards) job thinking I wanted to get straight in and stay at a job for years. In the end I went for very...

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up

Well you are on the right track. And you have more money than I did when I came back. I had very little. Main incentive to finding work was staying at daughters and couldn't live rent free.
You...

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up

The main reason I...

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up

Re: Does anyone watch "Wanted Down Under"?

Agreed. Exactly. The longer you are away the harder it is to return too. You build more and more of a life. At the end of the day only you know whether that new life is better or makes you more...
