We took our test in July. I read the book they sent and got 20/20, my husband didn't read it and got 18/20! You only need 15 to pass.

we didn't take a language test. I photocopied every single scrap of school documentation I could get my hands on. Exam results, certificates, YTS letters....even my swimming proficiency certificate...

sent my husband's renewal on 1st Aug with Canada Post. He didn't sign the box 'adequately', so UK passport office wrote back asking for a new declaration page. This added to the UK backlog, we got it...

got our notice to sit the citizenship test less than 5 months after submitting the paperwork..............shocked is an understatement! Wasn't expecting those little brown envelopes for another year!

DandNHill, I would rather not have him out west before us, but I think this will be the reality. I guess it just depends on how long it's for...... a few months would be ok, but beyond that I think...

All we did for work visa and PR was a notorized letter from a lawyer, supporting our statment that english was our first language. Now they want either third party certificates or school record type...

thanks - although their requirements are not overly helpful. School certs are only good if you took exams (not everyone does) and there is no diploma for finishing senior school. Really don't want to...

We've used Rob Peters at Eisenhauer brokers - they beat Johnsons for price and cover (for us at least) and I do call around every couple of years to compare......still with Eisenhauer.

Thanks for the reply Jericho.....as for why the move...might not have a choice if other half wants to keep/progress in his job.....the company could be relocating.
