Bugger too. In England its a casual form of exasperation, as in' Oh bugger, I forgot to switch off the iron.' Here it means something a bit different.:eek:

But the book is called; 'The GI Bride' by Iris Jones Simantel.

She has a follow up to that about her marriage, how she settled in etc which I also loved...

Many of them were Eastenders, pretty tough and resourceful. And you're right, most of them didn't have a clue what they were getting into. But once they were here, that was it, you had to make a go...

Last summer I read a couple of war bride memoirs and sobbed through the whole thing. Once you came over that was pretty much it, in terms of visiting.

I didn't say they were a problem. Your pets pop up often as a hindrance to getting home.

If it were me, I would probably seek to rehome them and find more available suitable accommodation.

I think your pets are getting in the way of your dreams and holding you back somewhat. Is there anyway you could rehome them and therefore more realistically find a place to live...
