Re: Moving to Melbourne

Hi, I recommend you have a look at areas like South Yarra, Brunswick, Carlton, Richmond, St Kilda, for starters. All of those are a short tram or a long walk to the City, and all have good nightlife...

Re: Rugby World Cup 2019 thread

Yes.

My South African colleague sent me a text after the game (he was in the same pub!). It just said - "I was right".

Re: Small volume shipping

Hello... thribble! A few years ago after my father had passed away I used these guys to ship the few boxes of his possessions I wanted to keep. The service was good and everything arrived intact. ...

Re: Looking for a French language exchange for 2 Australian teenagers

They're twins aged 14. The idea is for them to stay with a family or families with similar aged French kids, but from what is being said on here that seems to be not possible which is a shame as...

Re: Looking for a French language exchange for 2 Australian teenagers

Mmmm not keen to pay a company who will just meet them off the plane. Our kids travel extensively by themselves - even internationally - and are very savvy and independent. They also don't need...

Re: Looking for a French language exchange for 2 Australian teenagers

Hi, sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I meant a host family or 2 host families who could accommodate 2 teenage girls for 3 - 4 weeks so they could be immersed in the French culture and language, and...

Re: Rugby World Cup 2019 thread

We're going to be watching all the Australian, English and New Zealand matches. I've been trying to buy a Rugby top for my wife. Admittedly it's an All Blacks top, she is a born and bred Kiwi after...

Smile Looking for a French language exchange for 2 Australian teenagers

Hi, I'm looking for a French speaking family or families who would be prepared to do a private language exchange with 2 Australian teenagers.

I'm guessing this would preclude most people on here...

Re: That time

Don't give up on it - I hated NZ for all the reasons you read on here most weeks, and moved back to the UK with my Kiwi wife (who was also pretty ambivalent about her country). Loving Australia (12...

Re: Ooh how exciting, another new arrival

If anyone's interested, we have Costco membership here in Australia and shop there regularly. Some things are great to buy in bulk (eg eggs, cheese, bread of all sorts, baking ingredients) but the...

Re: new zealand scenery

If its any consolation a lot of New Zealanders don't appreciate their scenery. When I lived on the West Coast of the South Island, I woke up every morning to snow-capped mountains, endless forests...

Re: Roll Call...

I still pop in sometimes.

Weirdly I probably see more people in person reguarly from BE 12 years ago now than I talk to BE peeps in cyberspace. Still keep up in person frequently with RobnHelen,...

Re: Married to Kiwi - Moving to Australia (Advice needed)

Hi Adam, job prospects aside, the visa you would need if you did not have New Zealand citizenship is the 461. It's a 5 year set period temporary visa with full unrestricted work rights which is...

Re: Can I move to Australia?

I recommend you contact Peter Chiam at Ptlabs consulting - he specializes in IT visa applications and quite honestly I don't think I would be living in Australia now if I hadn't had his help. I...

Re: Moving to Melbourne - Relocation Allowance Help

Re: Extremism , terrism & hate speech discussion - NZ

Interesting observation in the papers today. Jacinda is being held up as an accepting, all embracing, all-race-inclusive, compassionate leader. Conversely, Scott Morrison and his Australian...
