Re: Any British Expats here in the Houston area? Have you found it hard to make frien

Can you do any volunteering? I lived SE of Houston for many years. Most of my friends were made through the pet rescue organization I volunteered with.

Re: Just to confirm....

And don't forget what it's like in July and August, when it's up in the 90s and humid and you can only go outside a few minutes before burning up and being drenched in sweat. (And the cost of the...

Re: 12 month anniversary of moving back and....

I'm at 9 months post-return and feel exactly the same way -- after 30 years in the US. No regrets at all. :D

Re: Does the weather in the UK suck eggs & makes you yearn for sunny weather?

Re: Doggie problem after returning

I'd get her checked out by a vet to make sure there isn't any physical reason for it. (Is she spayed?) If there's nothing physically wrong, then I suspect Dunroving's right and it's a manifestation...

Re: Agism in UK?

I was 54 when I came back. I had no trouble getting a job as a production editor for a major publisher. Obviously I can't speak for your field, but believe me, there are plenty of young 'uns applying...

Re: Does the weather in the UK suck eggs & makes you yearn for sunny weather?

Re: Does anybody leave the USA?

Hi Gambler!

I think like everyone I went through the self-doubt phase -- what could I be thinking to want to leave the US? And that stage was hard, going back and forth in my head with arguments...
