I am an AJ Bell customer and they pay my SIPP withdrawals to Wise and have done so for 4 years ish.

My wife tried to link her Bell Sipp with Wise and they initially refused. I wrote back saying...

I have done that in a SIPP, it was very easy. As you have found out some UK investment firms don't want US based customers. AJ Bell is one option for you.

A few years ago I did a comparison between HSBC and xe trade GBP/USD (before I knew of Transferwise), HSBC was worse. No surprise. Can't remember the actual figures.

+1 on the Amex, their Global Transfer service was very helpful to us when we moved over. And Amex remains my favourite credit card in the US.

Exactly right.

The SP500s long term average gain is around 11% per year. Rather than punt fx whilst you have a higher probability of growth in the US stock market.

To receive GBP payments from 3rd party's, make FX deals & send USD.

One added advantage is you can get instantaneous text/mobile/email alerts of incoming credits.

I found HSBC a difficult bank to deal with and no longer use them.

This is a better Sort code checker - not all websites are equal

23-14-70 = Transferwise UK, as TW are not a Clearing Bank, they have an account with Barclays who are a Clearing Bank.

A bank (such as Citibank Na, London) can be both a full London branch offering all the usual banking services in the UK to UK citizens...

I suggest you open a gbp bank account with transferwise.com. This will give you a UK sort code and account number. You can then convert the money as you wish. And your parents can make a GBP BACS...
